Celebrities: Having Babies, Naming Babies

It's a pretty name in general; just kind of funny to give a kid a first and middle name with such a specific reference. Like naming your kid Holden Caulfield Smith.

It's super twee but I like it. I know so many babies named aurora (I think that might because I grew up northern lights adjacent though), so I think it's a cute alternative.

It is twee but at least if she gets sick of being Briar Rose or Briar, she can drop the first part and go by Rose. I do prefer it to Aurora or, say, Elsa, which I'm sure we'll see a big surge of coming soon.

I hate it, which is so weird, because I love the fairy tale and I don't usually have a problem with twee names. It is a pure, irrational hatred, though. Go figure.

My daughter actually has a classmate named Tiana, which is a princess name I can really get behind.

I don't usually love twee names but I do like princess names. And I'm a sucker for Disney. Tiana is a very pretty name. I'd like Merida, too, although it's more unusual.

If I had another girl, I'd want to name her Sophia, but not after Sofia the First. I just love the nickname Sophie.

My daughter's name was supposed to be Sophia, but at the time the lunkheads across the street from us bought a dog and named it Sophie. So her name became Mia.

I knew a girl growing up named Briar Rose, so I don't think it's that weird. I like it.

Jimmy Fallon and his wife have another girl, named Frances Cole. My best friend's daughter is named Frances so I am partial to it.

Armie Hammer's daughter is named Harper: Harper Hammer.

Harper's a beautiful name, but it sounds a bit cartoonish when paired with Hammer.

Hayden Panettiere gave birth to daughter Kaya.  I love her so much on Nashville. She's one of the best things about that show.

Holy crap. I hadn't even heard that she was pregnant. Good for her, and I like the name Kaya!

Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel are expecting their first child.

Although the "source" revealing that she's three months pregnant and due in April doesn't make sense - if she were three months pregnant now, she would be due in June. I had my daughter in the month of April, on time, and I hit the three month mark in October.

I was wondering when there'd be confirmation. Kudos to them!

I like it much better that their first daughter's name.

The latest Kardashian is Reign Aston Disick...and after Mason and Penelope I assumed that sister was the most normal sister. Guess it didn't last.

Maybe she promised Scott he could name this one.

Well, at least if he wants any keychains or mugs or t-shirts with his name on it, he can buy out leftover merchandise for the show when The CW cancels it.

Reign Aston? That name is almost nice but also supremely douchey.

Alicia Keys and Swizz Beatz had another boy, Genesis Ali. Naming the second son Genesis? Maybe they hadn't thought of it before.

Looks like Benadryl Funkybunch is finally going to have the babies he has wanted for so long.

Is there a canonical list of amusing Cumberbatch name mutations? Because that one is excellent.

I wonder if they'll go for a crazy ass first name to go with Cumberbatch or pick something really plain to give full glory strictly to the surname.

This list is pretty good. I don't believe there's an actual canon, or complete list, but there should be. It should be some Cumberfan's job to collect them all.

That list fails. It has no Paddyjoe Cumberbund.
