Upcoming Films

Who even cares if this Jon Hamm/Daniel Radcliffe project never actually happens? It's already happening in my...brain...and that's all that matters, really.

Working for an electrical utility, I was tickled to death to see that director of Wanted is interested in making a movie about the rivalry between Edison and Westinghouse. I know a little bit about it thanks to my job, and the topic would probably make for an interesting film.

So the Epic Movie/Date Movie/Meet The Spartans folks have started in on...The Starving Games.

Now if you'll excuse me, I need to hop onto the 105 bus, transfer to the 212, get off in Hollywood, and burn that fucking neighborhood to the ground.

Burn it, salt the earth, and make sure nothing ever grows there again.

Hayley Atwell to Lead a Pseudo '10 Things I Hate About You' Sequel. I... don't know what to make of this.

A sequel to Red is coming, with additional cast member Catherine Zeta-Jones. I am cautiously excited, since the first one was a lot of fun.

I'm sad that I didn't see Karl Urban's name, but I remain hopeful that he'll at least make a cameo. I'll watch it anyway though, because Helen Mirren was so badass.

I'm not sure where else to put this but: I just got back from The Avengers and saw back to back trailers for: Battleship, GI Joe: Retaliation* and The Expendables 2. The only way I could honestly tell the difference between the 3 were thier music stings. Coming this summer: Explosions!

The first time I saw the Battleship trailer I thought it was another Transformer movie only with ships instead of cars and trucks.

G.I. Joe: Retaliation is getting moved to March. This makes me sad, as I was looking forward to the cheese fest.

I wonder if a desire to not have two of his movies open on the same day was part of it as well. Not that Magic Mike isn't still going to get buried by all the other summer blockbusters, but at least now his fans will have to go see that if they want to see him in anything, as opposed to choosing between Magic Mike and GI Joe.

From what I understand hes barely in GI Joe.

Huh, for some reason I thought he had a sizable role. I'm probably mixing up my movies. So is GI Joe a Bruce Willis/The Rock movie, then? I might see that if it's not too unbearably stupid.

Maybe the push back to March had more to do with Battleship's enormous floppity flop.

He was the star of the first but from what I understand his role amounts to a cameo that he basically did as a favour to the director/contract obligation.

I think Magic Mike might do okay. Channing Tatum has grown into a draw, has had a great year and it might be effective counterprogramming. And I think the Soderbergh factor may draw in people that would otherwise not go. Plus it looks kinda ridiculously fun, I'm not going to lie.

Apparently they're trying Wonder Woman again with the screenwriter of...Green Lantern. Greaaaaaaat.

And as happy as I am that Marvel is planning on doing a Black Panther movie, it seems like that means no Black Widow movie, which annoys me.

Well I hope this movie gives Adrianne Palicki another chance to play the role, I still think she was an inspired choice for dreadful tv WW,in that she is truly Amazonian, and she can act.

Bet they're kicking themselves now for passing up Whedon's script. Dammit, what will it take to get a great WW movie?

I agree though, blixie, from the little we saw of the failed WW show, I think Palicki would've done good.

I love Adrianne Palicki and would cast her as every superheroine ever, but she's particularly well-suited to Wonder Woman. Or Ms. Marvel. AGAIN, I'M NOT PICKY.

Too bad Cobie Smulders is now tied to the franchise as Agent Hill, because I know she was Whedon's first choice for WW. Adrianne Palicki is a good choice too.

I like Cobie but she's way too slight for WW. I really like the idea of Adrianne, she's got the right look. I also support her as Ms. Marvel.

Smulders' face looks almost exactly like classic Wonder Woman to me, but I think her frame is too slight. Palicki has a bit more of the Amazonian build.

I'd like Yvonne Strahovski or Katee Sackhoff to be Carol Danvers.

Katee Sackhoff for *Captain* Marvel, please! I believe that's what she's going by in the comics, now.

I know that even the comics don't really do it that much, but it'd be nice if they played up Wonder Woman's Greekness - gave her a little touch of an accent or something.

Well, if we're talking lady Captain Marvel, I want Monica Rambeau and I want Gina Torres or Tracie Thoms to play her.


Back on topic--I am having a weirdly hard time convincing anyone to see Rock of Ages with me. :'(

Why? It looks so fun!
