He claims his great-grandmother was part Cherokee or Creek which is not an uncommon claim and not always true.

Re: Upcoming Films
WTF, indeed! Why is Johnny wearing a BIRD on top of his head?
At least Armie Hammer looks appropriately dashing.

Re: Upcoming Films
I find this potentially problematic in many ways but not the costuming necessarily. The bird is his spirit animal I imagine and it was customary to be worn that way.

Michael Eisner to produce another Garbage Pail Kids movie.
A reboot of that is exactly the kind of thing we need to boost our flagging national morale.

Wouldn't the market for this kind of thing be teens/early twentysomethings, who won't know about garbage pail kids? I barely remember anything about Garbage Pail Kids, and I'm 27.

Re: Upcoming Films
I had garbage pail kids (long, long ago), and I certainly don't want to see that.

I can't tell if I am charmed by the Dark Shadows movie, or annoyed by it. I love Johnny Depp, but that trailer looks...interesting. I'm torn.

Re: Upcoming Films
I feel the same way, Crowbridge, except I'm a little more on the doubting side. I have such a deep affection for that silly old series, and this treatment seems over-the-top to say the least. I'll confess I did laugh at the television scene, but overall I'm thinking it looks way more campy than it needs to be. The soap opera was campy too, but I don't think it was supposed to be. It seemed to take itself very seriously and that was often what made it so funny to me.
I'll give this film a chance, but right now I'm not feeling very confident that I'll like it.
Thank goodness this board doesn't show the number of edits. I'm such an idiot.

Re: Upcoming Films
Sofia Coppola's Bling Ring was pretty much totally off my radar. And I'm still not really sure what the hell this movie is going to be, however...these filming pics of Emma Watson kind of blew me away in a good way. I'm loving the tacky, sexy vibe here. Feels like a new challenge for both her and Coppola.

Is she playing the one who had the E! reality series? I can't quite imagine how they're going to get a whole movie out of those morons, but stranger things have made good movies, I guess.
Re: Upcoming Films
I know it's been 12 years since she filmed the first "Harry Potter"... but I'm still shocked and feeling guilty about how hot I find her in those pics....

Re: Upcoming Films
I think many, many people are having that reaction.
As for the film, I think it could be interesting if it's about celebrity culture and reality tv stardom in L.A. I mean, Coppola's probably one of the best people to tackle that issue as she probably grew up with a lot of these celeb kids who've gone on to be totally useless.

...wow, she really grew up. I guess this is like Radcliffe doing Equus: a chance to rebrand herself a bit and remind people she's older.

Re: Upcoming Films
I'm interested in seeing this. I didn't like Watson's performance as Hermione in the majority of the HP films (she was okay in the last two), but for some reason I still really like her and want her to do well. I think she has potential, and this project looks interesting.
Now I wonder what Rupert Grint's "HI I AM A GROWN UP" project is going to be...

Re: Upcoming Films
LOL, Daily Fail, you clearly have no idea what "a typical American teenager" actually is.
I'm mostly excited because it's another Sofia Coppola movie. But yeah, it's definitely dealing with themes I think she will (and has) handled very well.
I think Rupert Grint has been mostly doing smaller indie films. I'm not sure the last one I heard about even played in America, or at least anywhere that wasn't New York or LA. But the "I'm a grownup!" project I'd really like to see would be the one from Matthew Lewis.

June is going to be very hard on my wallet: I want to see Brave, Prometheus, Magic Mike, Snow White and the Huntsman, and Rock of Ages. Yipes!

Re: Upcoming Films
I keep forgetting about Rock of Ages. And then I remember it and hope that it justifies my continued love of Tom Cruise in movies (which isn't to say I care about him at all as part of the celebrity gossip mill).

Re: Upcoming Films
I don't care about Tom Cruise, but I loved the stage show, and as long as the film hasn't totally rewritten it to be all about Stacee (Cruise's character), I will enjoy.

Re: Upcoming Films
Vince Vaughn taking over from James Garner in "The Rockford Files".
I've only seen the show a handful of times, but I can see it working. Not that I particularly care, but I hope this goes more the way of The A-Team than 21 Jump Street when it comes to big screen adaptations of Stephen J. Cannell TV shows. I really enjoyed 21 Jump Street, but we've already got the idiot comedy update of '70s detective series in Starsky and Hutch.

As long as I get to hear the theme, I don't care.

Re: Upcoming Films
I am a little disturbed by how attractive I find Jamie Foxx in that photo, he's all lean and tall looking next to Waltz, and with the beard. Wow. I'm very happy to see he's working with Kerry again, they worked well in Ray together.
Re: Upcoming Films
WHAT is that hair on Leo?
I am super psyched about this movie. The cast alone is incredible.
