No. Never. I finally familiarized myself with that after finding a summary written by a non-involved non-crazy person, and everyone who was a part of that entire saga should have ended up in a straitjacket.

Hey, we actually got dragged in the DANNY wank, didn't we? That and Chrystalwank was my first exposure to the true batshit insanity of the internet. I feel old. (except for the Banner Wars, and let's face it, that was the best thing to ever happen on the Internet, EVER.)

ETA:The horsewife (ew) was not news to the citizens of Missouri. A case made the alternative newspaper there.

I think the transition from Livejournal to Tumblr has taken some of the wank out of the fandom, because there aren't as many tight knit communities to cause wank in, like the old hogwarts_elite, etc, that had the power to exclude people and make parallel communities to bitch about the main ones in secret.

Good god, I just spent WAY too long reading the MsScribe saga. What a bag o' crazy that one is! Did any of her BNF defenders ever say anything about it after she was exposed?

Twitter too. Wank is really hard to summarize and document these days. It's still out there, but you sort of have to be IN the wank or at least adjacent to it to have any kind of concept of what's going on. Back in the day, you could link to one LJ entry and get the basic gist.

I think Tumblr wank is actually fairly common but as noted unless you are involved or are following one or more of the wankers it is impossible to follow. It goes by so fast and tumblr is hard as a spectator medium. But Game of Thrones fandom is incredibly wanky on Tumblr and always getting into fights about incredibly dumb things.

It also seems like a lot of the fight's gone out of F_W these days - now everything's unfunny and gets frowned over disapprovingly instead of mocked. I can't even imagine the Ginmar wank making it to F_W anymore.

I never even check Fandom Wank anymore, except for Hot Daily and that is on an infrequent basis.

Speaking of psychotic fans, Daryl Dixon/Norman Reedus fans are ratcheting up the intensity and driving out other TWD fans. I read the EW interview with Reedus where he mentioned that fans send him sex toys including whips and chains and someone sent him their removed breast implant. I love that he has a sense of humor about the whole thing but I still shake my head at fans sending celebrities sex toys.

He seems to be taking it in stride and uses the implant as a phone cradle in his trailer. He seems to find it more amusing than anything.

Its great he finds it amusing but I worry about them mental state of someone that thinks that is appropriate behaviour.

I predict someone is going to want to give him something even more personal and meaningful like their baby's umbilical cord after it has dried and fallen off. Or a vase made out of a loved one's ashes.

Exactly, and whether or not he knows it, he's just encouraging the crazy. I think it's good that he has a sense of humor about it, but fans can be really over the top at times.

The Walking Dead fandom seems to be pretty wanky though. You have people stabbing girlfriends in debates over the show and sending death threats to Laurie Holden.
