Yeah, I can do both and code it so that we have a separate "spoiler text" button distinct from the spoiler box under Others. Will run it by mods.

I don't want an email each time someone replies to a topic I've posted in. So far I've pressed the link that says "press here to discontinue the e-mails" and I've marked the e-mails I've gotten as spam in my inbox. Neither have worked. Anyone know the answer/have some advice? Thanks.

ETA: And I've just noticed there was a checked box that said "check here to receive e-mails when someone replies" just as I clicked "send". okay, if I un-check that maybe that'll work. :crosses fingers:

Where is that box? I am having the same problem but can't find that magic box! All my preferences are set for no emails.

Okay, when you make a post ANYWHERE on the board, there are three checkboxes in the area under where you edit. They are:

-Disable BBCode in this post
-Attach signature (signatures can be changed in profile)
-Notify me when a reply is posted

You want to make sure you don't accidentally click that last box. (In fact, if people are okay with it, I will hide that option entirely because it seems to be causing problems.)

The other places to check are:
Preferences->Always notify me of replies (set to NO)
Topic(s) Being Watched-> (turn all of them off)

It isn't when I am replying, it's when I accidentally hit the follow this topic, it keeps sending me emails when someone posts in that topic. I mean I go and unfollow the topic but I happen to accidentally hit the follow this topic thing a lot!

Okay, I made that checkbox vanish. If people want it back, I'll bring it back.

Trying to make Biakbiak happy, I have moved the "Watch this topic" link to the left side of the page. Hopefully this will make it easier to avoid hitting it by accident.

Nah, they put it in a silly place. Actually I'm not really done moving it, but I don't want to fiddle with it anymore during the daytime. I'll wait till late tonight before I move it to its final location (which will probably be about 12-15 pixels higher than where it is now, in line with the page numbers on the right.)

Thank you! I was also having trouble with that, particularly on the iPad (first world problem, I know). Having it on the other side will help me enormously. (I'm not saying I might not still click on it by accident, as I am just that uncoordinated.)

Any other first world problems I should know about? I was thinking of adding a little extra space between page numbers for easier selection on touch screens. Sometimes I hit the wrong number. Anyone else do this?

Yeah, I do that all the time as well. I have to zoom right in to select the page number, and even then I sometimes hit the wrong one.

Okay, there's some more space added around the page numbers, and I also moved the "view new post" icons further from the poster names on the "View New Posts" page. In both cases I hope it will make it easier to not hit the wrong link.

Thanks so much for your efforts, p_p! I was having the same problem, hitting "follow this topic" when I meant to just move to another page. So it's really nice to have it on the other side. And the extra space between pages helps, too, when I'm browsing on my phone. Since my laptop broke, it's my only access to Snarkfest right now, so I love how easy it is to navigate on it!

The new posts icon has changed to a cocktail glass. I'm not complaining, but is that deliberate?

Hint: check the (HIC!) forum banner. We are having some temporary tech-hic-technical difficultiesh that will probably resholve themshelves on Friday. In the mean time, all poshters are invited to drink themshelves silly, even ones that don't usually shelebrate Thanksgiving now.

Loving the cocktail glasses and temporary name. At first I was like, "Weird. I never noticed the boardname was misspelled." Once I read "The Turduckening," I caught on. Really fun little surprise there, mods!

Hehe - I caught "The Turduckening" but totally missed the "Snarkfeast." Awesome!

It's funny—it actually said Snarkfeast starting at 10pm EST and not a single person noticed. I then added "The Turduckening" and STILL nobody noticed. Finally in the small hours of the morning I switched the new post icons to martini glasses and FINALLY someone caught it, but I still had to point out the banner!

We are back to normal now.

Going to make a quick test of the ability to add an FAQ. (Sooner or later we will get around to that.) This forum gives the capability to add on to the Forumotion FAQs if I understand correctly and I want to test the system to see how it works. Anyhow, there may be weird behavior while I'm fiddling but no permanent changes to the board will result, since I'll undo everything when I'm done playing.

ETA: And I'm all done. It works! The FAQ questions appear at the top of the FAQ (which can be accessed from the button under the SF title). Underneath the questions that I added were the Forumotion questions and answers. However, I've reverted all the changes so you can't see anything now.
