YESSS! Bob's Burgers is hysterical and everyone needs to watch it so it doesn't get canceled.

Alyson Hannigan had to take out a restraining order against a recently released mental patient who's been threatening her online. Which is obviously super scary and very serious. So I feel awful that right after reading this, my first thought was, "I wonder if he was a Willow/Tara shipper?"

Ugh. The article I read suggested the police were disputing the "thought she was an intruder" story and saying they'd been there before for domestic violence.

Police say the "accident" theory did not originate with them.

I used to really, really admire him. I'm shocked by this. Just goes to show, no matter how much you like a celebrity, you can never really know what kind of a person they actually are. Domestic violence, murder... Jesus Christ. What a bastard.

I was floored when my co-worker showed me that this morning. From last year's Olympics hero to a murderer? That's the fastest and worst turnaround ever. Well, I mean he was clearly a bastard for years, but his downfall sure is swift.

'Coronation Street' actor Michael Le Vell charged with litany of sex offences. This pretty much blew my mind because of the gravity of the charges. The Kevin Webster character never really registered to me except when he had a gross affair with Molly and got her pregnant, and the storyline where he was really sweet and understanding about his daughter coming out. The whole thing makes me queasy.

I share your queasiness, Grainne Mhaol, not just because of the sickening severity of what he's charged with, but also because I went through a soap watching phase while in primary school and secondary school and a bit of college so while I don't know the actor, I do know him because I watched him on TV for years, if that makes sense.

So while it's not really as if I'm hearing about someone I know suddenly being charged with this, it kind of is.

I'm just horrified and my heart goes out to those affected.

Every day the Oscar Pistorius case gets more and more convoluted. I'm starting to think it's just one of those things where we'll never really know what actually happened.

At first I was all "dude. You obviously had an argument, she went into the bathroom and you rage shot her through the door, probably because you're a douche bag and on testosterone." Now I'm all...confused.

I'm pretty sure you got it the first time, but there might have been a little lag time between the active arguing and the shooting.

Yeah it reads to me like she barricaded herself in the bathroom during their fight, which enraged him more so he went and got the gun (and maybe put on his blades) and killed her.

But the magistrate seemed sceptical about whether Mr Pistorius constituted a flight risk, asking Det Botha whether a gold medal-winning Olympic athlete would forsake his career and avoid the chance to clear his name in court.
Um...YES? Seriously, we're asking if a millionaire with a second home in a foreign country who is up for pre-meditated murder constitutes a flight risk?

I do kind of agree with the judge there. He's very recognizable, and if he wants any type of career he'll have to face the charges. He can't just flee to France and complain that he's an artist and run races from Europe.

I think his career is pretty much over and he knows it. Hes an olympic athlete yeah, but he was also marketed heavily as a story of triumph and courage. Killing your girlfriend tarnishes that a bit. However if he runs to France he can probably live a fairly comfortable life. So I would totally consider him a flight risk.

This sounds a bit like the Roman Polanski case to me. Different crime but it's the same as far as flight risk.

Agreed.

And if he is guilty and knows he's guilty, "clearing his name" isn't going to be a higher priority than getting away with murder, which could quickly be accomplished by running.

How much of his fortune is liquid? Because if it's a lot, he could live very comfortably in a place without an extradition treaty to SA.

His career is over. I frankly don't see a difference between intentionally killing his girlfriend and intentionally trying to kill someone hiding in the bathroom. He couldn't see the 'intruder' and shot 4 times before calling the police or doing any kind of defensive acts (like grabbing the gun, his legs, and leaving the room). Reckless and impulsive, and murder.

Other the other hand we have several football players who have done despicable things, gone to prison, and people act like it didn't happen. I don't think he's thinking oh yeah my career is over. Even Lance Armstrong thinks he'll have some sort of career even after all the crap he pulled.
