Fulton Reed from Mighty Ducks is Foggy Nelson on the new Daredevil series!! I'm so freaking excited for this show, I can't even stand it.

Man, they are just loading up SHIELD this season.
I'm happy for Adrianne Palicki, though. I really would have loved to have seen her as Wonder Woman in a weekly series - just not David E. Kelly's version.

I love the crack about a talking tree being a good replacement form Brett Dalton. Heh. Truth is Truth.
Agreed on Palicki as WW, and I feel like she still makes more sense than the short and fine boned Gadot.

Re: Marvel Cinematic Universe
The only sour note last night was that there's any way in hell that Ward has information on Skye's father. His being Hydra came out of left field but was buyable. That he also knows stuff about Skye... not so much.
Otherwise, I'm sorry that Lucy Lawless was only here for one episode (apparently) and that BJ Britt is still listed as a guest star.
I am puzzled by how non-chalant Coulson was about the loss of the 084 just because they got a spiffy new QuinJet as planned. That's some cold, Fury level SHIELD-directing there.
And also: Fitz makes me sad now.

Re: Marvel Cinematic Universe
I have to admit, I didn't see the FitzSimmons twist coming at all.
And it seems strange to bring in Lucy Lawless for a one-off like this. Unless introducing a big name actress to kill her was some next-level stuff.

Re: Marvel Cinematic Universe
I assumed she'd be resurrected as a bad guy or something. Like you guys, I couldn't believe they'd just bring her in for one episode.
Ward was so creepy. Like he was drugged.
And ditto on the FitzSimmons twist...

Robert Downey Jr. an AMA at Reddit yesterday in which he said he's be willing to make an appearance on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

So, when Coulson was in Simmons's apartment, was it just me, or was it brimming with sexual chemistry? Coulson was talking about making steaks, but the subtext was all, "We'll eat, talk shop, and then screw like rabbits ALL NIGHT LONG."
Re: Marvel Cinematic Universe
I got the fatherly vibe. He's taking care of her because she's on his team.

I eventually convinced myself it was fatherly concern, but yeah... when that scene started I was all, "Wait what?"

Re: Marvel Cinematic Universe
I think it was written fatherly, but Clark Gregg gave it a little bit too much, "How you doin'?" spin in his performance.
Re: Marvel Cinematic Universe
Definitely also got the sexual undertones here. It kind of made me go, wait, what?

Re: Marvel Cinematic Universe
That was an impressive "good vs. evil twin" fight. Really nice face replacement where used.
I liked seeing Widow's mask from Cap 2 showing up again.

What luck that faux-May had the exact same body type, including bust size, as real May.

I just loved the banter between Coulson and May ("CUFFLINKS!". Now I wish we could've seen the missions they ran together back in the old days.

Re: Marvel Cinematic Universe
So, nowhere else I checked out mentioned this but... Mockingbird has CLEARLY been, like, secret-sleeper-brainwashed, right? Because we see her charging toward the Hydra second-in-command and some flunkies, then cut to Simmons on the roof, and then Mockingbird running out behind her shouting "Southwest Corner!"
So there's no chance she doesn't have some sort of sleeper-command to infiltrate SHIELD.
Of course, she's the goddamn Mockingbird, so I fully suspect she will break free of the brainwashing one way or another. And then... well, bad things happen to people who try to brainwash Mockingbird.

Re: Marvel Cinematic Universe
I seriously doubt that the Lost City is Atillan, as so many fan sites are speculating. With The Inhumans movie coming in 2018, starting that thread four years early on Agents of SHIELD seems unlikely. But damned if I have any better theories. At this point, I'm just along for the ride. Not even going to try and outthink the show. I'm just excited we're getting little seeds like Ward's mention of Strucker being "overseas". I don't want the show to go into a holding pattern for Age of Ultron like they had to for Winter Soldier but I hope we get a few more bits of foreshadowing here and there.

Re: Marvel Cinematic Universe
I was really hoping that Grant and Christian were genuinely going to "make up" after Christian's confession. I thought it might be interesting to see the two of them working together to make Coulson miserable.
Love it every time Hayley Atwell shows up. Can't wait for her series.
Glad to see Coulson being a little looser and more hands on with the director thing now that the Compulsion is out of his head.

Re: Marvel Cinematic Universe
Apparently Bill Paxton was only keeping the crazy chair warmed up for Kyle MacLachlan.
I loved how there at the end, you've got Whitehall, Ward, and Skye's Dad forming the Evil League of Evil, yet two of them are completely unpredictable.
I don't think Grant Ward wants to make Coulson miserable. I think he wants to come home, and maybe he thinks he can inflitrate Hydra the same way he infiltrated SHIELD, and earn his way into the team's good graces. I can't imagine it happening at this point, especially after this week's episode, but I think a heroic death is the best he can hope for.
That's all speculation, btw. I am completely unspoiled.
I'm still trying to decide if Bobbi has been brainwashed. I'd have bet money on it, but if that was the case, why did Bakshi try and kill himself? I can see him not triggering her yet, because then they'd both be locked in the basement, but still. Unless he doesn't know, and only Whitehall knows.

Double-posting because I need to talk about the winter finale, and share my theory
Also, GO SKYE. Just aim a little higher next time.
- Spoiler:
- that the "thing" Bobbi and Mack are being all cryptic about is that she's secretly working for Stark Industries and just playing at being SHIELD so they can keep an eye on Coulson and crew.

My fandoms have collided.
David Tennant is joining the MCU for the Jessica Jones series.
And he is playing someone utterly reprehensible.

Re: Marvel Cinematic Universe
Can't believe we're just a few months away from Daredevil.
With Marvel having mapped out the 4 Netflix series ahead of time, I'm wondering if they left any room for additional seasons of the four shows? If Daredevil does gangbusters for Netflix (though I'm still not sure *how* Netflix makes money on shows like this or House of Cards - is it all just merchandising???), will they be able to do a second season of it alongside A/K/A Jessica Jones? Or is their plan so set that they'd have to wait until after The Defenders, which in the current plan isn't supposed to hit Netflix for three more years?
Part of me loves that Marvel has such faith in their product that they've planned so far ahead. And another part of me fears inflexibility in the schedule will hurt the brand if they hit a rough patch. Seems hard to think that Doctor Strange or The Inhumans might not be popular just from their association with The Avengers, but even Pixar eventually put out Cars 2 (which, admittedly, is a bad analogy since Cars 2 was a financial success, but COME ON that movie sucked).
