They still call each other brother and sister?

They're not actually blood related, so it could be worse.

If he was raised by Whitney, too, then my guess is they're both grieving young people who aren't exactly making the best decisions right now. I hope it's a very long engagement or they at least get talked into a prenup.

There's a cynical part of me that wonders if he's driving this because Whitney left everything to Bobbi Kristina.

Oh, I know. It was just the fact that they still refer to each other as siblings that grossed me out. If you're engaged to the guy, STOP calling him your brother.

I agree that they aren't thinking things through, and I hope they don't rush into marriage. It really doesn't look good, though- people make all kinds of hasty decisions when they are grieving.

Yeah, I'm way less bothered by the "like a brother to her" aspects than I am by the fact that she's a 19-year old girl who lost her mother a month ago and was reportedly on a suicide watch.

I mean, it doesn't hurt that they genuinely care about each other, etc., but... engaged? Raised as siblings? What is this, Wuthering Heights?

Throw in the rumor that he's actually Bobbi's half-brother and the whole thing shoots straight into Flannery O'Connor territory. (I don't think that one's true, because someone would have told Bobbi at some point, right? RIGHT?)

What saddens me about this whole thing is that I remember when Whitney Houston was pregnant and she was giving an interview on MTV (because back then they actually had music related content and videos - I miss those days *nostalgic sigh*) about how happy she was and how she was looking forward to the future. She said something that stuck with me all these years about how she'd often be in a room filled with people and feel lonely, and now she wasn't because she had Bobby Brown and she was having a baby.

And now the poor woman is dead and her daughter seems to be making the same bad decisions about relationships. I mean, prove me wrong, Bobbi Kristina and whatever-his-name-is, but going by my experience, it doesn't seem good.

Where is this girl's sassy gay friend to say, "WHAT WHAT WHAT ARE YOU DOING?"
