That is so very sad.

Mayim Bialik in a car accident. Apparently she injured her hand very badly and one finger was almost severed.

Lord, I had to double-check the topic as soon as I saw her name. Massive relief it wasn't the death pool.

Her husband tweeted from her account and said she was in pain but going to keep all her fingers!

Scary! I'm so glad that her kiddos weren't with her and I'm glad that she's going to be okay.

That's good. She seems somewhat insufferable in real life but I'm glad she's going to keep all of her digits. I love Amy Farrah Fowler.

It sounds as if she's really lucky to have survived that, especially as she didn't go to hospital straight away. Glad she's ok.

Wow. I guess it's time for cumadin and a weight loss plan. No judgment here--I could use a weight loss plan myself.

Nick Rhodes' mystery illness causes Duran Duran to cancel the last two weeks of their current tour.

Wow, I hope he feels better soon! I saw them perform in Durham NC a week ago, and he seemed fine. Of course, he doesn't move around much during a concert so it wouldn't have been obvious if he was already feeling ill at that point.

I read that earlier and now I am concerned. I love Nick.

Me too. It was Nick's picture I had all over my wall in 1984.

He was my favorite too - we share a birthday. Hope he feels better soon.

I saw them at DPAC last week, too! So much fun.

A little more information about Kristin Chenoweth's on-set accident. I hadn't realized she suffered a skull fracture! I was surprised to hear that she's still having too much pain to do the next season of The Good Wife. I hope she recovers fully soon.

I had to look up a lighting silk because it sounds like it wouldn't weigh much and I couldn't picture how this could happen, and indeed the one I found only weighs about 2 lbs, but it looks awkward. I guess the problems she's having are more from her fall to the pavement after the thing fell on her.

How awful. Hopefully she makes a quick recovery.

Tori Spelling has emergency surgery after c-section complications.

Lady Gaga talks about her mental health issues (anorexia and bulimia) and about body issues in general and overcoming them on her website. With pictures, of course. Obviously triggering stuff if you have those issues too. Also probably not safe for work.

Poor Tori. This is her fourth C-Section, and second in the last year. That's intense.

Anyone know if she is doing C-sections as elective surgery? It wouldn't make me feel any less bad for her, because it sucks that she's had complications, but I'm just curious.

As for Lady Gaga--I was horrified that people were pointing out her cellulite and talking about how fat she was. She was too thin before. Now I think she's just about right. Even thin people have cellulite--I had some at 14 when I was anorexic and weighed less than 90 lbs.

It's getting a bit more common now, but there are still a lot of doctors who strongly discourage VBAC (vaginal birth after cesarean). She may not have felt she had a choice, for whatever reason. Either way, her body has clearly been through a lot and I hope the rest of her recovery is as smooth as it can be.
