Cutebutpsycho wrote:I LOVE From the Mixed-up Files of Mrs. Basil E. Frankweiler. I remember as a kid wanting to run off to the museum and stay overnight while foraging for coins to eat at automats. I'm still disappointed there are no automats. And that museums get angry if you try and stay overnight.
Now I'm having flashbacks. LORDY, did I love that book when I was a kid.

His set at Woodstock was classic. When I think Woodstock, I think Richie Havens.

Allan Arbus, who played psychiatrist Sidney Freedman on M*A*S*H, has died. Sidney was one of my favorite recurring characters on that show.
Wow, he was 95, a good long run. RIP.

One of my co-workers just told me George Jones died this morning. I took my parents to see him back in the day. He put on a very good show. I'll miss him. George Jones, King of the Broken Hearts.

Dead at 34? That's a shame. I wanted to wear my clothes backwards for a second cuz of him and Chris Smith.

I'm pretty sure I thought he was cute as hell back in the day. So sad that he passed away so young. I believe a drug overdose is now the likely cause of death.

Jeff Hanneman, Slayer guitarist. Liver failure, but I think it probably had something to do with the spider bite a couple of years ago. It gave him necrotising fasciitis, which nearly killed him.
Either way, I know what I'll be listening to tonight. RIP.

Those Sinbad stop motion movies were the Sunday afternoon movie almost every week in the 70s on one channel or another. And the sword-fighting skeleton still freaks me out a wee bit.

I didn't realize he was still alive, but I'm still sad and surprised to hear about his passing. The man was a genius.
