While we're on the subject, I never knew what brought Chris Martin and Gwyneth Paltrow together in the first place and made them get married and have 2 kids over the space of 10 years.

You really do never know.

I developed a soft spot for Sarah Silverman when I realized she was the astronomy lady who paired up with Tom Paris in the Voyager episodes where they travel back to 1996. (Yes, I'm a nerd. Also, that show was my childhood.)

I find Chris Martin rather bland but I guess he's respectable enough (successful, music mostly inoffensive with usually a pretty good song or two per album, no real scandals). Which seems right up Paltrow's alley. She's not above marrying some Britsh rockstar, but she's not going to get involved with one of those sloppy drug users who needs a haircut, or one those hipsters who's too into skinny jeans to appreciate a truly fabulous pant.

Plus they got married in 2003, which was a peak Coldplay year--you couldn't fucking sneeze without hearing "The Scientist."

I guess I just see Lawrence being a bit too sloppy and fun? And he's a real downgrade from Hoult. Though maybe she did have a lot of teenage feelings to "Scientist" back in the day or maybe I'm just projecting.

And for the record, Gwynnie's ok with her ex's conscious re-coupling..

Ironically by she's going so far out of her way to say it doesn't bother her, it only makes me think it totally bothers her. Ha.

Agree. I'm going with pics are it didn't happen on this one just because I don't like him, and luckily he's so loath to be seen in public I'm sure I'll never see those pics. I don't like him for making me feel sorry for GOOP because he cheated on her all over the place and he just seemed like a dick trying to forcer her to dump him, rather than leaving her when he was over the relationship. I've long since been done with his overblown Adult Contemporary music.

Interestingly I thought they got together under somewhat shady circumstances in the sense that she was dating a dude in Travis, who were sort of both up and coming slightly indie Brit bands, and traded up to Martin when Coldplay emerged the "victor".

I think she and Hoult are going to be back together by the time they are shooting the third x-men tbh. They are totally that couple we all know. Who always get back together when they are in the same vicinity then break up "because the distance is too hard" and then eventually you hear they got married and you are like "...were you guys even together again?"

I knew a couple EXACTLY like that so I may be projecting too, ha ha.

No I think its a total downgrade too (I love both Hoult and Lawrence and really liked them together). However I can see this as a rebound for both.

LOL, I may be completely wrong, but I've always gotten the vibe that Jamie Bell is the person she goes back to when her more dramatic relationships end, (I remember they got together post Manson AND Ed Norton although the last time was more quietly) until she eventually either settles down with him or someone else.

Okay, so like I am not even a huge Muse fan (although I will have fondness for them because right before my 18th birthday they were opening for a horrible band we went to see, and my friends and I hung out by their tour bus and the drummer accidentally poured beer on me and then profusely apologized and "dried" it by patting my chest area and telling me I could clean myself up on the bus, and frankly its a good story) but that is the worst downgrade ever.
