I think the opposite is the case. Being outspoken religiously gets him more work in Christian entertainment than he'd ever get in mainstream Hollywood these days being a Baldwin brother.

I think what hurt his career is less that he is a Christian, but more that he became that Christian who you know will take every opportunity to PREACH at you over every single thing. I mean, Jesus is the guy who started the whole ball rolling, but even he knew when to switch off and just chill out sometimes. He got invited to weddings and everything!

People like that get very tiring very quickly. It's hard to be of good moral standing when you want to kill the annoying Christian guy you're working with.

I think his lack of mainstream work has more to do with the fact he seems difficult to work with and he has neither the popularity nor the talent for producers to overlook that. Maybe I'm thinking of another Baldwin brother but other than Alec, the Baldwin bros seem to have morphed into a singular Baldwin entity and I have no idea which one is the good looking one, which one is the jerk who wanted people to pay off his debt, and which one is the bland one. Is there even a fourth Baldwin brother?

Yes, there is! Daniel. I think he killed a giant crocodile once on the Syfy channel and I'm not entirely sure he's not just a random Baldwin. Stephen's biggest problem in finding work may very well be due to the fact, as my high school BFF's big brother once said, "Too many damn Baldwins." It probably all comes down to "Not Alec Baldwin? Not interested."

Billy's made a comeback of sorts by being on various night time soaps. He was fun on Dirty, Sexy, Money and is on Gossip Girl. His pretty boy grown up look works for that.

I also continue to weirdly love him and Chynna Phillips as a couple because you know they bonded over being the sane ones.

I am SO PLEASED they finally worked Billy into an episode of 30 Rock before it ended. Like, irrationally pleased. You know Daniel and Stephen heard about that, and Alec has been dodging calls ever since.

When I think non-Alec Baldwin brother, I think "substance abuse and/or evangelizing plus not a great actor." I think it's the 'not a great actor' part that is harming him the most.
