Re: Sherlock
Just announced, Sherlock will return to PBS on January 19, 2014 at 10 PM! No announcement about the BBC premiere, but it's supposed to be sometime before PBS.
Our long nightmare is going to be over in just three months! Yay!

Re: Sherlock
The next best announcement would be PBS saying that they're going to run it uncut from the BBC version, lessening my need to download it from England wait for it on Netflix.

Yes. Cutting out 7 minutes of one of your most popular programs just to make it fit? Stupid. Just make it a two-hour time block, and fill it with fundraising crap on either end.

Re: Sherlock
So the eps are about to start showing in the UK and I've watched S1 and S2 (excluding Hounds, because... really...). Does anyone know if the plan is to release the eps on iTunes as soon as they show in the US, like they do for Downton? I'm supposing there's no chance that we'll get them as soon as they are shown in the UK and we'll have to wait until they show in the US later in January? Has anyone heard anything?

Re: Sherlock
UK Sherlock envy. =( Â Wildog27, I'm assuming we have to wait a few weeks, haven't heard anything else.

Re: Sherlock
I really enjoyed last night's episode, even though I found the fast editing a bit distracting in the beginning. Â I hadn't realized how much I had missed this show (is this the last season)? I am a bit confused about the scene where Sherlock tells Anderson how he survived the fall, was he lying or was that actually how he survived. Â I feel kind of dumb asking that.

I may have actually clapped my hands in glee at certain parts. Certain...kissy parts.
I love Mary so much, you guys. She is the best. And Mycroft and Sherlock playing Operation made me laugh out loud for real. Totally unexpected.

Loved it, loved it, loved it. John's multiple reactions to Sherlock's return. The lessening quality of the restaurants they were in. Sherlock thinking he was being funny as he returned to John and John not getting the joke. "F..." "Cough." OMG, best thing ever.
Mary is awesome, which makes me suspect her, of course. As much as I love Watson and Sherlock, Sherlock and Mycroft's relationship might be more enjoyable to watch in some ways.
I'm so glad that the next episode is Sunday, so I can download it Sunday night and watch it Monday.

I liked it -- the Andrew Scott cameo had me giggling. I think the whole episode was a troll against the fan theories.
Also, I love how normal Mycroft and Sherlock's parents are. The idea that these two people birthed those two has me giggling. It's like Fraiser and Niles Crane with their dad.

I *thoroughly* enjoyed that! Will need to rewatch - as I always do with Sherlock episodes!
Sherlock was right about John's mustache.
Wildog27, the declining restaurants bit cracked me up too. The whole Sherlock-as-waiter was hilarious.

This show, you guys! The thought of recapping it for TWoP or anyone is intimidating the heck out of me. It would be better if I just had a blog in which I could wrap it in sparkly, pink ribbons. <3

Re: Sherlock
Sherlock's drunken deductions were perfection. Best stag party ever. And then when he shooed The Woman out of his brain! Ugh, loved it.
I thoroughly enjoyed the episode-- it was so bright and bubbly! But it seems the next episode will take on a more serious case, which I'm very much looking forward to.

Holy shit, I haven't laughed so hard in a long, long time. Incredibly funny and poignant at the same time. The drunken deductions were hysterical, but Sherlock's fond words for John and Mary were really well done, as was his accidental deduction of their pregnancy. His telling John to control his wife was very off-putting, but he is a high-functioning sociopath, so that made a little bit of sense. Much better than the other two seasons' second episodes.

Re: Sherlock
Yeah, that broke the second episode curse.
Sherlock's terrible, awful, no good speech that took a turn for the sweet and delightful was amazing. The whole episode was amazing! Loved it.

Re: Sherlock
This may just be my favourite thing I have seen on TV in a long while Sherlock as a hook up expert, Mycroft running, the telegrams, drunk Sherlock and Watson, Sherlock the best wedding planner ever, Sherlock still doesn't know Lestrade's name, when in the 'ghosts' apartment all the descriptive words on the screen.
The whole thing was a goldmine. I am still loving Mary I like that she gets the relationship and Sherlock gets Mary and is protective of John and her's relationship.

Loved it. Loved it. Loved it. Hilarious (Gavin! "Sitty thing"!) and so cute (the pregnancy deduction and Sherlock and John both saying they love each other...aww....) then so bittersweet at the end with Sherlock leaving the music and walking away.
I have a sinking feeling about next week's episode. I kind of just want this one to be the last episode for a while so I can bask in the happy feelings.

Re: Sherlock
I enjoyed how his rambling round-about speech kind of followed the rambling round-about way the case went.
I also cracked up about the serviette thing between Sherlock and Mary. I knew in that moment that she truly got him when she pushed and said that she could tell he was bullshitting, and he had to admit that he looked on youtube how to make things look fancy.
