I saw you reposted it, but I've seen it like a dozen times. I remember I cced you on my revised version, though.

Wow. So many people in my news feed are announcing pregnancies today. I wonder if there's something in the water...

Might be the same thing that's causing all the engagements in my news feed.

There are also a LOT of people abruptly switching their political affiliations. WHAT IS GOING ON.

I am still busy being irritated at how my newsfeed's order of updates are constantly screwed up. Why is something I saw yesterday popping up in between things people are updating today? So annoying!

Have you checked that the "Sort" is set to Most Recent and not Top Stories?

Oh, what a dumb ass. That's probably it! I know it's set that way on my actual computer, but I will see what the set-up is on my FB app.

I have mine set to Most Recent rather than Top Stories but it seems to reset itself every now and again. Very aggravating.

My resets back to Top Stories every single time I visit so I always have to change it back.

Mine too, at least on Chrome. The iPhone app doesn't do that to me.

A lot of people have their Instagram feed linked to their FB feed (including me), so I've notice lately that I'm seeing WAY more photos that usual on my feed, which is fine. I can follow friends on Instagram which is cool. But I have a new internet pet peeve. Like on Twitter, people are using hash tags to tag their Instagram photos, which is fine. But my peeve is people who put about a million random words in as the 'description' for the photo, but every single freaking word is hash tagged, so the Instagram photo description is a paragraph long.

I don't know if it's an Australian thing, but there are a couple of friends in particular who do it incessantly. So my feed is cluttered with Instagram pics with descriptions like "#beach #telelvision #canoe #pyjamas #moonwalk #hangover #awesome #leprechaun #taxi #hammock #noodles #frog #frisbee #motorcycle #lipstick" and so on and so forth. I don't know what annoys me more: the extreme overuse of the hash tag, or the fact that they try and cram in as many unrelated words as they can. Probably both.

Just because you have a hash key doesn't mean you have to use it ALL the time for ALL the words.

I have to admit that half the fun in posting Instagram photos is coming up with ridiculous hashtags to make my friends laugh. With regards to what you're referring to though, I think those are people trying to attract as many watchers as possible to their Instagram accounts so they use as many hashtags as they can hoping strangers looking up any of those random words will stumble upon their photos and start following them.

Yeah, that's so blatantly what those people are trying to do, and that's why it annoys me!

Oh gosh, here I am rambling about why people do it cuz I thought you actually needed the explanation. My bad! Anyway, I totally get annoyed by seeing million hashtags for a single photo, too. I know someone who runs an Instagram account for her adorable Shiba Inu puppy, and seeing her billion tags for every post made me stop following the dog's account (that sounds crazy, BTW) even though he's so cute that I sorta want to scream.

I have some notifications that some random people I don't know have "added" me. What does that mean? Is it just a new way of phrasing a friend request? I haven't friended them or anything, so they can't see anything I haven't made public, right?

inversed, I got one of those notices, too. I clicked on the notification, and got the dialog box about accepting or ignoring, so I assumed it's the new way of doing friend requests. I hit the "ignore" button, and got a box asking me if I knew this person in real life. I hit "no" and was informed I won't be getting additional requests from that person.

So, no, they shouldn't be able to see anything that's not public.

My gripe is that I've put some people (basically my handful of family members) on a filter so they can't see my updates or pretty much anything on my profile, but when I used the feature that lets you see how your page looks to a certain person, I realized that my uncle can still see everything I post. I never would have even discovered that if he hadn't liked a photo I'd shared from my Instagram. Goddamn FB filters!

This won't last for too much longer, but as of this moment, Anonymous has taken control of the Westboro Baptist Church's Facebook page, and it is a thing of joyful beauty.

Certainly a nice uptick from yesterday. I wonder if Anonymous had this in the works already or if they just felt we needed to see some hate taken down a peg today.

Nonononono. One of my Facebook friends just posted that she had a nosebleed at work. AND THEN SHE POSTED A PICTURE OF THE BLOODY TISSUE.

I really don't understand what's the point of switching from Top News to Most Recent if I still don't get everything my friends post.

And Facebook, I really appreciate getting to see every silly meme and cat video and rant about sports/weather/politics, but not my friend's pregnancy announcement. Also, maybe you could've actually put ALL the "I'm okay" check-ins from the Boston folks I know in my feed. Especially the one from my friend who'd forgotten her phone at home that day.

But that's okay! Someecards are totally more important than knowing my friends are safe or going through major life events.

Is anyone else having a lot of problems with FB over the past week or so? I can't post a status or comment on my friends' posts. I can't even see my own page anymore on my laptop. FB works just fine on my phone, though. I don't know what's going on.

I've been having kind of the opposite problem. FB is ok on my laptop, but very wonky and prone to crashing on my iPhone, whether through web or app. I just assumed it was because my iPhone OS was so old (have a 4S, haven't updated since I bought it), and FB keeps making changes that are more suited to 5.1 or 6.0 or whatever the later OSs were.
