No, I don't believe that (especially for family). We can't help our family and sometimes one has to spend time with them. If I took this as a litmus test, I'd have to unfriend half my Facebook. Especially Eris Rising. ;-)

Well, and there were some fucked up BIs about (what I think were generally believed to be) her and her dogs that have made me think a lot less of her over the last few years, too. I like JT when he's working (her acting bores me to tears), but as humans they both seem pretty terrible.

This just honestly makes me sad, not just because of this specific situation, but because as much as I like to believe that people aren't awful, I think this level of detachment is probably not very unique among people with that kind of money. It's very depressing to be confronted with how little people actually care or empathize with the less fortunate.

He's an asshole, and he has asshole friends. She is probably an asshole too, just for marrying the guy. That's all I have to say.

What katesi said about the dog rumor/story. I have never ever gotten over that. That Biel allows herself to be chumped so hard by the all time champ chump is also pretty freaking sad. And it is sadly not surprising that their social circle thinks homeless people and their plight should be exploited for a laugh.

Yes One dog ATE the other one, and I think they were actually *big* dogs (Rottweilers? IDEK). I think it was around the time she was on/off with Ryan Reynolds.

I always got the impression that she was clinging on to him for dear life, determined to get him to the altar. I may have either pulled that out of the ether from photo assumption or read something somewhere that influenced that impression though.
But as I've never thought too much of him and have always found his speaking voice to be a bit weedy sounding, I could never see what she saw in him. If she couldn't do better than him fame/money wise, then surely she could do better than him personality wise.

And that thing about the dogs drives me nuts! According to Lainey, IIRC Biel was in the other room when it happened. Wonderful.
If you have a lifestyle/job where you're not at home much and there's a lot of irregular hours, then don't get a dog like a pit bull which needs an intelligent owner capable of giving it the time and attention and routine it needs to learn and be a proper sociable part of the family. In fact, don't get a dog, not even a small one because then you just end up with something that you think is cute but it actually an annoying thing because dogs needing training. Don't even get a cat. Get a stuffed animal instead and don't be annoying me!

Wait, she dated Chris Evans and Ryan Reynolds and the one she ended up desperate to marry was Justin Timberlake? In the words of Tim Gunn, I question her taste level.

At the time she was dating Evans and Reynolds, neither of them were as famous as they are now. I think Timberlake had a larger measure of success/fame when Jessica Biel started dating him, so she was probably hoping he could open some doors for her. Why she has continued to cling to him even though his film career hasn't turned out the way he envisioned is the bigger head scratcher.

Yeah, I was thinking personality, but the famewhoring factor is probably what kept her with Timberlake.

After people started questioning her about it, her publicist did release a statement, saying the dog had been in a fight with a group of dogs and died. Which does lend some legitimacy to the rumors for me.

I forgot about that but it seems to me that the publicists story could just as easily been the truth, rather than the blind item which often are a kernel of truth buried in some bullshit.

Me too. Is she pregnant? Because the froofy belly layers make her look it. Also, SO SICK of strapless. Have designers literally forgotten how to create anything else?
